Base44 pricing and free plan limits (2026, tested)

Base44's plans and free-plan limits, re-read from Base44's own pricing page and docs on 18 Oct 2026, next to what one real build used on the free plan in our test.

Short answer: Base44's free plan gives 25 message credits a month, up to 5 a day (Verified, read 18 Oct 2026). The cheapest paid plan is Starter, $16 a month billed yearly for 100 message credits. In our test (16 Oct 2026), one working multi-user app with login and a database used 1 message credit on the free plan (Observed), so the free plan covers about 5 builds that size a day and about 25 a month (Inferred).

Honest limits: our usage numbers come from one v1 run (depth Tier B) of one fairly simple app, so treat them as one data point. Prices and limits change, sometimes weekly; these are what Base44's pages said on 18 Oct 2026. Check the official pricing page before you pay. No tool paid for this page, and payment never buys rank.

Recent changes and time-limited terms

Database limits for new apps (from 18 Oct 2026). Apps created on or after 18 Oct 2026 get a database size limit set by plan: Free 200 MB per app with a 100 KB largest record, Starter 2 GB, Builder 5 GB, Pro 10 GB (250 KB records), Elite 25 GB, Business 50 GB, Enterprise no limit. Apps created earlier don't have these limits, and uploaded files don't count toward them. A small app like the one we tested is far below 200 MB (Inferred). Stopping the AI now costs credits (from 18 Oct 2026). If you stop the AI partway through a reply, Base44 now charges for the replies it already finished, the same as a message that runs to the end. Stopping before its first reply stays free. On a 25-credit free month, stop early or not at all (Inferred). Verified, Base44 changelog (18 Oct 2026 entry) and credits FAQ, read 19 Oct 2026

What the free plan actually got us Observed

  • The build: one multi-user to-do app with email login, a database and a public URL, from one fixed prompt, on a fresh free account with default settings (16 Oct 2026). It worked first time: 100/100, about 3.5 min to a live app, zero fix prompts.
  • Used: 1 message credit. Credit usage page went from 0 of 25 to 1 of 25 message credits; integration credits stayed at 0 of 100.
  • What broke: Closing the email-code page strands a new user: no way to re-enter or resend the code. Logging out does not revoke the access token on the server (the old token still worked).

How many simple apps the free plan covers Inferred

  • Builds that size on the free plan: about 5 a day and about 25 a month. 5 ÷ 1 = 5 builds a day; 25 ÷ 1 = 25 builds a month.
  • Value of our build at the cheapest paid rate: about $0.16 to $0.20. 1 credit × ($16 or about $20) ÷ 100 on Starter. You pay the subscription, not this amount.
  • This assumes every build costs what our one clean run did. Real apps are bigger and need fixes, so expect fewer.

When the free plan runs out

  • At the daily limit, features that use credits pause until the daily reset (midnight in the workspace owner's timezone, or UTC), as long as monthly credits remain. At the monthly limit, they pause until the next reset (Verified).
  • Manual visual edits (dragging elements, editing text directly) use no credits, and a Discuss mode message uses about 0.3 credits (Verified). Do small fixes by hand and plan in Discuss mode to stretch the free month (Inferred).
  • On Free, automatic error fixes cost message credits; on paid plans they are free (Verified). If a build goes wrong, one or two auto-fixes, then switch approach (Base44's own advice).
  • Starter at $16 a month billed yearly gives 100 message credits, about 100 builds of our size, and allows private apps (Inferred from our 1-credit build; private apps Verified as paid-only).

FAQ

How much does Base44 cost?

Base44 has a Free plan, then Starter ($16 a month billed yearly, 100 message credits), Builder ($40), Pro ($80) and Elite ($160), each billed yearly; Base44 says yearly billing saves 20%, which puts month-to-month prices at about $20, $50, $100 and $200 (prices Verified, read 18 Oct 2026; month-to-month figures Inferred). Enterprise is custom.

What are Base44's free plan limits?

Base44's free plan gives 25 message credits a month, up to 5 a day, plus 100 integration credits a month, and up to 5 apps. Private (invite-only) apps are available on paid plans only (Verified, Base44 pricing and docs, read 18 Oct 2026); in our run the free plan required the app to be public (Observed, 16 Oct 2026).

How many apps can you build on Base44's free plan?

In our test (16 Oct 2026, one run), one working multi-user to-do app with login and a database used 1 message credit (Observed). At that size the free plan covers about 5 a day and about 25 a month (Inferred: 5 ÷ 1 = 5 builds a day; 25 ÷ 1 = 25 builds a month.) Apps that need fix prompts or more features will use more.

What happens when Base44's free plan runs out?

Features that use credits pause until your daily reset (if monthly credits remain) or your monthly reset. Manual visual edits use no credits, and Discuss mode uses about 0.3 credits a message. Upgrading gives a bigger monthly allowance (Verified, Base44 docs, read 18 Oct 2026).

Does Base44 use free-plan projects to train AI?

Used on every plan except Enterprise; no opt-out setting (Reported, vendor docs read 17 Oct 2026). Our AI training opt-out guide has the details and the steps to switch it off where that is possible.
