Bolt.new pricing and free plan limits (2026, tested)

Bolt's plans and free-plan limits, re-read from Bolt's own pricing page and docs on 18 Oct 2026, next to what one real build used on the free plan in our test.

Short answer: Bolt's free plan gives 300K tokens a day, 1M tokens a month (Verified, read 18 Oct 2026). The cheapest paid plan is Pro, $25 a month for 10M tokens. In our test (16 Oct 2026), one working multi-user app with login and a database used about 101K tokens on the free plan (Observed), so the free plan covers about 2 builds that size a day and about 9 a month (Inferred).

Honest limits: our usage numbers come from one v1 run (depth Tier B) of one fairly simple app, so treat them as one data point. Prices and limits change, sometimes weekly; these are what Bolt's pages said on 18 Oct 2026. Check the official pricing page before you pay. No tool paid for this page, and payment never buys rank.

Recent changes and time-limited terms

Free build weekend, 17 to 18 Oct 2026 (ended). From 12:00am PT on Sat 17 Oct until 11:59pm PT on Sun 18 Oct 2026, Bolt made GLM 5.3 Flash free in the model picker for every account, free and paid, in six-hour allowance blocks (paid plans got five times the free allowance per block). It was the only free model that weekend. That window has closed, so the normal free-plan token limits above are what apply now. Verified, bolt.new/builders-week, read 18 Oct 2026; free-plan limits re-read on bolt.new/pricing 19 Oct 2026
Bolt Forge no longer listed on Pro. On 18 Oct 2026 Bolt's pricing page listed "Bolt Forge included until Oct 18" on Pro. When we re-read it on 19 Oct 2026 that line was gone, and the Free, Pro ($25) and Teams ($30) terms above were unchanged. GLM 5.3 Flash is one of Forge's open-source models, and Forge has separate data-sharing terms (see our opt-out guide). Bolt's help center now says Forge access on Pro, and its extra free Forge usage, ended on 14 Oct 2026, and that 14 Oct was the last day to sign up for Bolt Lite, its $9-a-month Forge-only plan. People already on Lite keep it. Verified, bolt.new/pricing, read 18 and 19 Oct 2026; support.bolt.new Bolt Forge page, read 20 Oct 2026
Billing moves to Link from 1 Nov 2026. Bolt says that from 1 Nov 2026, Link, a payment service built by Stripe, will handle billing for Bolt plan and domain subscriptions. Plans and token allowances stay the same, and Link adds sales tax or VAT where a region requires it. Bolt emailed subscribers an opt-out link for anyone who would rather keep billing through Bolt, open until 28 Oct 2026. Free accounts aren't billed, so this only matters on a paid plan (Inferred). What the free plan actually got us Observed

  • The build: one multi-user to-do app with email login, a database and a public URL, from one fixed prompt, on a fresh free account with default settings (16 Oct 2026). It worked first time: 100/100, about 6 min to a live app, zero fix prompts.
  • Used: about 101K tokens. Token balance went from 1M to 899K for the month and from 300K to 199K for the day. Bolt rounds balances to the nearest 1K.
  • What broke: Mobile bug: edit and delete buttons only appear on mouse hover, so they are invisible on touch screens (375×812 emulation).
Bolt tokens before our run: 1M monthly, 300K daily
Bolt tokens before our run: 1M monthly, 300K daily
Bolt tokens after our run: 899K monthly, 199K daily
Bolt tokens after our run: 899K monthly, 199K daily

The same build measured on all four free plans, side by side with time to live and fix prompts: measured cost per working app. Screenshots of the app itself: Bolt review.

How many simple apps the free plan covers Inferred

  • Builds that size on the free plan: about 2 a day and about 9 a month. 300K ÷ 101K = 2 builds a day; 1M ÷ 101K = 9 builds a month.
  • Value of our build at the cheapest paid rate: about $0.25. 101K ÷ 10M × $25 on Pro. You pay the subscription, not this amount.
  • This assumes every build costs what our one clean run did. Real apps are bigger and need fixes, so expect fewer.

When the free plan runs out

  • Hit the daily 300K cap and you can wait for the daily reset, or keep making direct edits in Code view, which Bolt says uses no tokens (Verified).
  • Hit the 1M monthly cap and AI building waits until the 1st of the next calendar month (Verified).
  • Bolt says most token use comes from syncing your project files to the AI, so the larger the project, the more each message costs (Verified). Expect later edits on a bigger app to cost more than our first build (Inferred).
  • Pro at $25 a month removes the daily cap and starts at 10M tokens, about 99 builds of our size (Inferred: 10M ÷ 101K).

FAQ

How much does Bolt.new cost?

Bolt has a Free plan; Pro is $25 a month billed monthly ($18 a month billed yearly) and starts at 10M tokens with no daily limit; Teams is $30 per member a month ($27 billed yearly); Enterprise is custom (Verified, bolt.new/pricing, read 18 and 20 Oct 2026).

How many tokens does Bolt.new's free plan give?

Bolt's free plan gives 300K tokens a day and 1M tokens a month. Monthly tokens reset on the 1st of each calendar month, unused daily tokens don't carry over, and free tokens never roll over. It includes public and private projects, hosting for up to 333K web requests and unlimited databases, with Bolt branding on websites (Verified, Bolt pricing and help center, read 18 Oct 2026).

How many apps can you build on Bolt.new's free plan?

In our test (16 Oct 2026, one run), one working multi-user to-do app with login and a database used about 101K tokens (Observed). At that size the free plan covers about 2 a day and about 9 a month (Inferred: 300K ÷ 101K = 2 builds a day; 1M ÷ 101K = 9 builds a month.) Apps that need fix prompts or more features will use more.

What happens when Bolt.new's free plan runs out?

At the daily 300K cap, wait for the daily reset or make direct edits in Code view, which uses no tokens. At the 1M monthly cap, AI building waits until the 1st of next month. A paid plan removes the daily cap (Verified, Bolt help center, read 18 Oct 2026).

Does Bolt.new use free-plan projects to train AI?

On by default (off in EU/UK/CH); free opt-out on every plan (Reported, vendor docs read 17 Oct 2026). Our AI training opt-out guide has the details and the steps to switch it off where that is possible.
