Bolt.new alternatives (2026, tested)
We tested the other three with the same prompt; here is how they compared. On our v1 test (16 Oct 2026, free plans, one run each), Bolt scored 100/100 and was live in about 6 min. The alternatives: Lovable (100/100, under 4 min), Base44 (100/100, about 3.5 min) and v0 (95/100, about 15 min). All of them built a working multi-user to-do app with login and a database, with zero fix prompts, and none leaked one user's data to another. The differences were setup friction, free-plan headroom and small bugs.
Honest limits: v1 was one run per tool (depth Tier B) on one fairly simple app, free plans only, so treat every number here as one data point. v1 couldn't separate the tools (95 to 100 each), so official tiers wait for the harder v2 test (v2 prompt and checks, published before results; testing in progress, no v2 scores yet). Payment never buys rank.
No functional bugs found in 10 feature checks, security checks or mobile checks. Password minimum is only 6 characters.
Closing the email-code page strands a new user: no way to re-enter or resend the code. Logging out does not revoke the access token on the server (the old token still worked).
Lost 5 points on speed: about 15 minutes and a manual Publish. The $5 free credit is one-time for new sign-ups and does not renew.
Mobile bug: edit and delete buttons only appear on mouse hover, so they are invisible on touch screens (375×812 emulation).
Same prompt for every tool: a multi-user to-do app with email login, a database and a public URL, then 10 feature checks, a second-user data-isolation check and a 375×812 phone check. Tested 16 Oct 2026. Training defaults are from each vendor's docs, read 17 Oct 2026 (full opt-out guide). Cost in money: cost per working app.
Which Bolt.new alternative should you pick? (Inferred)
Our reading of the Observed results above, not a ranking. Your app is probably harder than our test app.
Pick Lovable if…
…you want the fewest surprises in a first build: no functional bugs in our 10 feature checks, security or mobile checks, zero setup, live in under 4 minutes.
Watch out: its app accepted 6-character passwords, new users must confirm their email before first login, and the free plan is 5 credits a day capped at 30 a month (Reported, checked 16 Oct 2026).
Free plan (Reported, checked 16 Oct 2026): 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month. Cheapest paid plan (Reported): Pro: $25 a month for 100 credits.
…speed and free-plan headroom matter most: fastest to live (about 3.5 minutes) and our build used only 1 of 25 monthly free credits.
Watch out: the free plan requires the app to be public (Reported), a new user who closed the email-code page had no way to re-enter or resend it, the access token still worked after logout, and there is no AI-training opt-out below Enterprise (Reported).
Free plan (Reported, checked 16 Oct 2026): 25 message credits a month, up to 5 a day (apps must be public). Cheapest paid plan (Reported): Starter: $16 a month billed yearly (about $20 month to month) for 100 message credits.
…you are comfortable with technical setup: our run needed six manual steps (accept Vercel terms, install Neon, two SQL approvals, generate an auth secret, manual Publish) and about 15 minutes, which is the hardest path for a non-coder.
Watch out: the build used $3.81 of a one-time $5 free credit for new sign-ups, so the free plan covers about one build of that size, ever (Inferred).
Free plan (Reported, checked 16 Oct 2026): a one-time $5 credit for new sign-ups, plus 7 messages a day. Cheapest paid plan (Reported): Plus: $30 per user a month, with $30 of credit.

Already built something?
Scan my app (free beta) runs a real browser over up to 5 pages of your app: phone layout, safe buttons, junk input, console and network errors. You prove you own the app first, write requests are blocked, and you get a private report with screenshots. It's not a security audit, and it never affects any ranking.
Other app builders on our lists. We have not tested any of these, so we make no claim about their quality, speed, cost or bugs. Being listed is not a recommendation or a rank.
Replit Agent: not tested. Candidate in our app-builder tier pool.
Evidence labels: scores, times, fix prompts, setup steps, usage and bugs are Observed in our own runs (receipts on each review page). Allowances, prices and training defaults are Reported by each vendor; "pick if" guidance and share-of-allowance figures are Inferred (our reading and arithmetic). What the labels mean. Disclosures: no tool paid us; commission size never changes a score or tier.

Which Bolt.new alternative is fastest?
Base44: about 3.5 min from prompt to a live app in our v1 test (Observed, one run). Bolt took about 6 min.
Which Bolt.new alternative goes furthest on a free plan?
The units differ (credits, tokens, dollars), so we compare the share of the free allowance one working build used (Inferred from Observed usage and Reported allowances, checked 16 Oct 2026): Lovable 7% of 30 credits a month, Base44 4% of 25 credits a month, v0 76% of a one-time $5. Bolt: 10% of 1M tokens a month.
Which Bolt.new alternatives let you opt out of AI training?
Per each vendor's docs (Reported, checked 17 Oct 2026): Lovable gives a free opt-out switch in account settings. Base44 has no opt-out setting below Enterprise. v0 lists its opt-out only on Business ($100/user/month) and Enterprise. We have not tested whether vendors honour these settings.
Is Replit a good Bolt.new alternative?
We haven't tested Replit Agent yet, so we make no claim about it. It is a candidate in our app-builder tier pool, and we will only publish a result for it after it runs the same test as the others.
