v0 pricing and free plan limits (2026, tested)

v0's plans and free-plan limits, re-read from v0's own pricing page and docs on 18 Oct 2026, next to what one real build used on the free plan in our test.

Short answer: v0's free plan gives 7 messages a day; new sign-ups get a one-time $5 credit (Verified, read 18 Oct 2026). The cheapest paid plan is Plus, $30 per user a month with $30 of credit. In our test (16 Oct 2026), one working multi-user app with login and a database used $3.81 of credit on the free plan (Observed), so the free plan covers one build that size, ever, on a new account (Inferred).

Honest limits: our usage numbers come from one v1 run (depth Tier B) of one fairly simple app, so treat them as one data point. Prices and limits change, sometimes weekly; these are what v0's pages said on 18 Oct 2026. Check the official pricing page before you pay. No tool paid for this page, and payment never buys rank.

Plus price display. v0's pricing page shows Plus at $30 per user a month with $90 struck through. v0 doesn't say on that page why, or for how long $30 applies. We list $30, the price shown. Verified, v0.app/pricing, read 18 Oct 2026
Free credit is a sign-up offer. v0's docs say the pricing page shows "the current signup offer" and your billing settings show what applies to your account, so the one-time $5 may change for later sign-ups. Verified, v0 docs, read 18 Oct 2026

What the free plan actually got us Observed

  • The build: one multi-user to-do app with email login, a database and a public URL, from one fixed prompt, on a fresh free account with default settings (16 Oct 2026). It worked first time: 95/100, about 15 min to a live app, zero fix prompts.
  • Used: $3.81 of credit. Billing page went from $5.00 to $1.19 available. After the run it read "a one-time $5 credit. This credit does not renew", with the remaining $1.19 expiring 19 Dec 2026.
  • What broke: Lost 5 points on speed: about 15 minutes and a manual Publish. The $5 free credit is one-time for new sign-ups and does not renew.
v0 billing before our run: $5.00 available
v0 billing before our run: $5.00 available
v0 billing after our run: $1.19 left of a one-time $5 credit
v0 billing after our run: $1.19 left of a one-time $5 credit

The same build measured on all four free plans, side by side with time to live and fix prompts: measured cost per working app. Screenshots of the app itself: v0 review.

How many simple apps the free plan covers Inferred

  • Builds that size on the free plan: 1, ever (for new accounts). $5 ÷ $3.81 = 1 build, and for new accounts the $5 is one-time. So for a build this size the one-time dollar credit, not the 7-message daily limit, is what caps free building (Inferred).
  • Value of our build at the cheapest paid rate: $3.81. Credits are dollars, so face value. That is about 13% of Plus's $30 monthly credit, before the $2 daily login credit. You pay the subscription, not this amount.
  • This assumes every build costs what our one clean run did. Real apps are bigger and need fixes, so expect fewer.

When the free plan runs out

  • When credits are used up, generation pauses (Verified). v0 lists credit purchases only for Premium, Plus and Business, so on Free a new account's one-time $5 is the whole budget (Verified).
  • If you pay for ChatGPT Plus or Pro, v0 can bill eligible responses from supported OpenAI models to that plan, but each request still carries a small platform fee in v0 credits, so you still need a v0 balance (Verified).
  • Plan the build before you start: our working app used 76% of the one-time $5 in one go, so there is little left for fixes (Inferred).
  • Plus at $30 per user a month gives $30 of credit plus $2 on each daily login; at our usage that is about 7 builds of the same size from the monthly credit alone (Inferred: $30 ÷ $3.81).
